Hi There,
This board is great. Glad to be a part of it. I'm wondering if you can answer a few questions for me that I've always wondered.

1. When do the refs arrive at the game site? i.e. when did Ed's crew get to New Orleans, and when do they get back home?

2. How does Ed and his crew prepare for a game?

3. How does Ed balance his time between his law practice and his NFL work?

4. Does Ed tape the games he refs and review them later once he gets home?

Thanks in advance if you are able to answer these.

I believe Ed stated in an interview that all officials are given a DVD of the game they just officiated before they leave the stadium to go home.

Let me try my best

1: As with most NFL teams, My Olympia's team arrives a few days prior, and may stay through the week if, say, they have 2 west coast games back to back.

2: 3 sets each: 10x Benchpress, 10x squats, 75 pushups, 100 sit ups, 25 pull ups, 15 bodybuilders, 100 jumping jacks, 20 leg lifts, 20 dips, break for 30 minutes to look in the mirror, 50 benchpress, 50 military press, 30 incline, 50 decline, 100 curls, 25 pull ups, dumb bell benchpress.

3: His NFL officiating Is law, SON

4: Of course he watches the tapes, its like when you do a REALLY hot chick, dont you wanna watch that preformance over and over again?

this might help. NFL network did a thing once on Ed and his crew you might be able to get a copy of it at their website.

Hi MontanaEdFan,

You might be thinking of the 6 Days to Sunday - Ed Hochuli

If you look in the 2nd page of the photo/video section -- go down about 3/4's of they way you will find:

6 Days to Sunday Part 1

6 Days to Sunday Part 2

You will need to have RealPlayer to view the video. It is pretty nice. I found them about 2 yrs ago in the internet & posted them when Scott Hochuli developed this site for his Father & his fans.

My theory is that he rarely sleeps (but he never answers that question). I've had email replies from him come in after 1am before. And, don't forget, lifting and golfing take time, too, so that's at least another 3/4 of a career, ;).
It's hard not feel like a slacker with guys like Ed around, :), dang him.
