 Post subject: Why are refs expected to never err?

Players fumble, drop passes, miss kicks, create penalties. Coaches make wrong play calls and poor personnel choices sometimes. Referees use their best judgement in rapid speed, real-time situations.

There are hundreds of factors that affect the outcome of every game. Why do so many people focus on "the refs" as THE FACTOR.

Our NFL refs are the absolute best. Big Ed is the best of the best. Period.

Thank God for the human element in our entertainment pursuits.
